How to Check and Upgrade Internet Explorer 4.x - 5.x to 128-bit Security
Follow the steps below to check and upgrade Internet Explorer 4.x - 5.x to 128-bit security.

Please Note: The following procedure is not supported by PeoplePC technical support. It is being presented as a courtesy to our customers. Please contact either Microsoft technical support or the manufacturer of your computer if you need additional assistance with this procedure.
  1. Open Internet Explorer.



  2. From the Help menu, choose About Internet Explorer.



  3. If your Cipher Strength is 40-bit or 56-bit, note the Version number listed and click the OK button.



  4. To update your Internet Explorer from 40-bit or 56-bit encyption to 128-bit encryption, visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/128bit/default.mspx to download the proper High-Encryption Pack for your browser and Operating System.
